Box Car Project - June 11, 1997

The Boxcar was ready to move in April, 1997. However, the car was located in a wet area and as the Springtime tends to be in Dendron, it rained off and on just enough to make a move unlikely. It took until June for the ground to dry enough to try to move the car. Moving day was June 11, 1997. Gene Rickmond, a General Contractor in Wakefield, sent his low boy and three employees to the site to back his truck under the Boxcar and move it to Dendron. The truck backed under the car, the supports under the car were lowered and the Boxcar sat on the bed of the truck. The load was secured and the trip back to Dendron began.
